Instructor and Owner of Next Level Martial Arts Alliance, Edward Bean (Coach Ed), has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2013 under Professor James Terlecki, a third degree black belt, under Professor Marcello C Montiero, who received his black belt from Ricardo De La Riva, a stand out student of Master Carlson Gracie. 

Coach Ed is a proud member of BCA, and also trains secondarily under Matt Waterhouse a third degree black belt under Eduardo Barros, a black belt under Andre Pederneiras. Coach Ed has most recently achieved the rank of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, and has been a standout competitor for team Next Level, winning out his divisions time and time again in tournaments such as NAGA, Grappling Industries, Grappling Universe Tournament Series, ADCC trials, The Good Fight, The Pennsylvania State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships, The Kumite Classic, The Rock Solid Challenge, Mission Submission, IUP Series, The East Coast tournament series, and has a solid winning record, all wins by submission, in the Fight 2 Win Pro circuit with only 1 loss by split decision. 

While Coach Ed, does still plan on competing in the future, his main focus is now on training his own students, on what it takes, to not only be able to walk confidently, knowing they could successfully defend themselves and their family if necessary, through the proper self-defense training of the Gracie Combatives, but also how to excel and dominate the tournament scene with the proper use of Marcello C Monteiro’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum, his intimate knowledge of Professor James Terlecki’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu system, a proven winning system, as well as the knowledge he has gained by training daily with the great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt that is Michael Mihas aka Mr JiuJitsu.

Jason Davis

Jason Davis BJJ Black BeltJason Davis is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Professor Marcello Monteiro. Jason started wrestling in the local youth programs and continued throughout high school before joining the US Marine Corps.

After returning home in 2001, Jason started training mixed martial arts and began fighting on the Ohio mma circuit. He fought for organizations like NAAFS, RFO, and Cage of Chaos. In 2006 Jason met legendary Nova Uniao Black Belt Professor Eduardo “Dudu” Barros and began training full time in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Dudu promoted Jason up to brown belt in 2012.

In late 2018 Jason met Ed and had the opportunity to teach classes at Next Level Alliance. In 2019 Jason joined Team Next Level and the Marcello Monteiro BJJ association and received his Black Belt from Professor Marcello and Professor James Terlecki. Jason also trained under 3rd degree Nova Uniao Black Belt Matt Waterhouse and continues to cross train with Professor Waterhouse.
